Madrid → China Provisional Refusal Deadline Calculator

If WIPO forwarded a provisional refusal that blocks protection of your mark in China, you have only 15 days (ex officio) or 30 days (opposition-based) to act. Enter the date you actually received the WIPO notification.
Use the cover-letter date / postmark on the WIPO envelope, not today.

What the deadline means

  • Within 15 / 30 days you (through a CNIPA-recorded Chinese agent) must either argue overcomes the refusal or file a formal review request (复审). Simply waiting for the evidence period is not enough.
  • You may then supplement evidence within 3 months, but this request must be made inside the initial 15/30-day window.
  • A foreign holder cannot file directly — the response must be submitted by a Chinese trademark agent, in Chinese.
Limits per WIPO (provisional-refusal time limits to respond, China): ex officio 15 days, opposition-based 30 days, running from receipt of the WIPO notification; up to 3 months for additional evidence. Dates below are calendar-day estimates from your receipt date and must be confirmed against the actual notification — not legal advice.
