Register & protect your trademark in China — before a squatter does it first.

China is a first-to-file jurisdiction and foreign applicants must file through a CNIPA-recorded local agent. Huaqing Innovation (Huaqing IP) is that agent — for foreign brand owners, cross-border sellers and overseas law firms.

⏱ Official online filing fee CNY 270 / class · Typical timeline 6–9 months · Opposition window 3 months · Protection term 10 years (verify against latest CNIPA notices)

Quick answers

The full 10-question FAQ lives in our open-source toolkit ↗.

Can a foreign company own a Chinese trademark without a Chinese entity?

Yes, you can own it, but without a local residence/business address the application must be submitted through a CNIPA-recorded Chinese agent — that is our role.

Is my US/EU/UK trademark valid in China?

No. Rights are territorial. You need a Chinese national filing or a Madrid designation of China; Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are separate systems.

Someone already registered my brand in China — now what?

Depending on stage: oppose within the 3-month publication window, seek invalidation, file a non-use cancellation after 3 years of non-use, negotiate an assignment, or claim well-known-mark status. Early monitoring is cheapest.

Why register the Chinese-character version too?

Chinese buyers and platforms use Chinese names. If you do not register your translation/transliteration, a third party often will — and can block your store and listings.
